Ms Amandeep Kalsi
Public Relations Vice President
Amandeep is a Canadian student in her second year of the LLB senior status programme at the University of Leicester. I have previously completed an undergraduate degree in Religious Studies at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. I have always had an interest in issues concerning religion and the law, and where religion fits in with the law, especially since a lot of my courses in my undergraduate degree covered law, religion and society. However, my aspiration is to work for a firm in Toronto in either corporate law or family law.
Furthermore, I have an interest in reading, a fascination with languages, as well as wanting to travel.
I became interested in GEEKLAW after attending the Dark Web conference in my first year. The conference peaked my curiosity regarding the law and modern technology. GEEKLAW addresses topics that students in law will benefit from learning, especially topics that are relevant in modern days such as, the use of social media, Cyber Security, and how to protect yourself from the use of technology and the web. There are many laws that govern how individuals interact with technology and it is crucial for students to learn about the law in a world that is filled with the constantly changing era of technology.
GEEKLAW has a lot to offer and I am honoured to be a part of a committee that is very much so involved in the understanding and teaching of law and technology.
